At Beaumont Hospital Foundation, we’re continuously moved by the dedication and heart shown by our community of fundraisers. Today, we want to shine a light on one truly remarkable effort — Amy Niland’s inspiring tribute to her beloved sister, Lisa.
Earlier this year, Amy took on the Toronto Half Marathon, running every step in memory of Lisa and in support of Richmond Ward at Beaumont Hospital. What began as a goal to raise €3,000 has now grown into something extraordinary — over €12,000 raised and counting.
This remarkable achievement speaks volumes about the love Lisa inspired, and the strength and sincerity behind Amy’s journey.
Amy was joined on race day by her cousin and one of Lisa’s close friends, making the experience of crossing the finish line all the more meaningful.
Reflecting on the day, Amy shared:
“Running the Toronto Half Marathon in memory of my big sister and best friend was special. Lisa was the kindest, funniest, most beautiful person I’ve ever known. My heart breaks every single day that she’s not here, but I also know how lucky I am to have had something so special that makes Lisa not being here so painful.”
Amy’s words capture not only the depth of her grief but also the incredible love and bond she and Lisa shared.
We are incredibly grateful to Amy for turning her loss into purpose and impact. Her fundraiser will help provide support and comfort to patients, families, and staff on Richmond Ward — ensuring her sister’s memory continues to make a difference in the lives of others.
From all of us at Beaumont Hospital Foundation: Thank you, Amy — for your strength, your generosity, and your unwavering love for Lisa. 💙
If you’d like to fundraise in memory of someone special, we’re here to help.
