Providing comfort and a place to rest for families who have travelled to be near a loved one in Beaumont Hospital

Beaumont Hospital Family House opened in March 2025 to support families with a loved one in critical care.

​

The house was generously donated by a family in memory of a loved one, with the intention of helping others remain close during some of the most difficult times they may face.

​

When someone is admitted to hospital unexpectedly, families are often required to travel long distances at short notice. Alongside the emotional strain of the situation, this can bring added pressure through travel costs, time away from home and the uncertainty of what lies ahead.

​

The Family House provides a place to stay nearby, allowing families to remain close to the hospital and to their loved one throughout their care.

​

Access to the house is arranged through Beaumont Hospital’s social work team, ensuring it is used to support families who need it most.

​

Since opening, the house has supported many families from across Ireland who have travelled to be by the side of a loved one during critical care.

​

While the house itself was a generous donation, there are ongoing costs involved in keeping it running, including utilities, cleaning, maintenance and day-to-day management.

​
