In 2015, the Delaney family from Quinagh in Carlow suffered the devastating loss of their beautiful daughter and sister, Kayleigh who died at age 25 from a rare and inoperable arteriovenous malformation of blood vessels in her brain stem. Throughout her short life she had suffered from migraines however her underlying condition was only diagnosed when she fell ill for the first time in 2012. Knowing she was living with this diagnosis, she went on to achieve high academic success in her law studies, travelled extensively visiting 20 countries in 10 months and took up a career as a trainee solicitor with Arthur Cox. Sadly, she died in Beaumont Hospital after falling ill in February 2016.
Her parents John and Catherine, brother Seán and sister Emma, returned to Beaumont Hospital recently to present us with a cheque for €2,300 in her memory. Our sincere thanks to the Delaney family and our condolences on Kayleigh's passing.
