Beaumont Hospital Gala Ball Raises €30K for ED Trolley Fund

Monday, 10 April, 2017

Last Saturday 1st April, over 330 of Beaumont Hospital's staff attended our first Gala Ball for many years in the Crowne Plaza Dublin Airport Hotel. The event provided a great social opportunity for our hard working staff and was also run as a fundraiser to generate the funding needed to replace the current ED trolleys with new height adjustable ones which will make it much easier for patients to access.

We are delighted to report that €30,000 was raised on the night from personal donations from staff, from corporate sponsorship and a further €20K provided by Beaumont Hospital Foundation. Fiona Hillary,  Asst. Director of Nursing of the Emergency Dept, says, “We are very grateful to the Gala Ball committee for choosing our project to benefit from the fundraising at the Gala Ball. It was a fabulous evening which was enjoyed by all. Myself and my team are absolutely delighted with the €30,000 raised. These funds will enable us to buy the EDs first couple of bariatric trolleys and a number of the other height adjustable trolleys. These will make an enormous difference to working conditions and I want to thank the staff in the hospital for digging deep on the night to make this possible. A huge thanks to everyone involved from the ED”.

Marty Whelan was MC for the evening and the crowd danced into the small hours to the music of band, Switch, followed by a DJ. Huge thanks to the many local business and individuals who supported by providing raffle prizes. It was a fantastic evening, a great success and hopefully it can become an annual event for Beaumont Hospital.
