Beaumont Hospital Foundation, in conjunction with the staff of the Breast Care Service, is launching a €1million fundraising appeal to complete the funding of a stand-alone Breast Clinic at Beaumont Hospital.
To be located adjacent to the RCSI Smurfit Building and the Emergency Dept, the project has already secured funding of €4million. We are now seeking widespread public support to fundraise the final €1million required to build this three-storey facility which will be a single centre for all breast outpatients needs at Beaumont Hospital.
A move to a dedicated unit will radically improve the patient experience for those attending the Breast Care Service. More consultation rooms will facilitate more clinics and reduce waiting times. Access to the latest breast imaging technology and the ability to carry out some procedures on-site will improve the overall efficiency of care for patients.
Patients will arrive into a light filled, spacious and modern clinical environment which will offer a calmer and more holistic patient experience. This first class treatment facility will be on par with the best international standards.
In addition, the clinic's multidisciplinary team will be in a much better position to coordinate the treatment and care of patients, purely from the point of view of being able to work in close proximity and having the back-up of breast care support and administrative staff in the same space. The clinic is scheduled to open in September 2020.
