Seamus McKenna memorial table quiz and charity cycle

BACK »

Seamus McKenna from Killybrone in Monaghan was a patient in Phoenix Ward before he sadly left this world behind on Jan 15th 2016 after fighting a very agressive form of cancer. Seamus's passing was a devastating blow to his wife and children, Cathal and Laura and to the wider community in which he lived.

His colleagues in Kerry Group organised a charity cycle and the the funds raised through this and a pub quiz held locally were split between Phoenix Ward and the Friends of St Lukes. Seamus was held in very fond regard by the nurses on Phoenix Ward as can be seen by the large gang - (l to r) Rowena Paseos, Fiona McNally, Yvonne Downey, Marianne Doran, Paddy Delaney (BHF) and Janette Henway - who gladly got in to the photo and accepted the fantastic donation to the ward of €5,000 presented by Cathal McKenna. Thanks to everyone who contributed to the fundraising in memory of Seamus.
