B Company's 80km Connemara Hike for the Stroke Unit

BACK »

In 2011, Jason Neary, suffered a stroke and spent several weeks in the care of the stroke unit in Beaumont Hospital. Fast forward six years and Jason is now in the Irish army and clearly fit for action!

Jason and a team of his colleagues from B Company in Gormanstown Camp took on the challenge of a 80km hike on 29th May. Each man carried a 40 kg pack and the team set off at midday and walked through the night to complete their challenge. They started from Maum Village in Connemara and finished with a climb of Croagh Patrick at 4.00am.

Congratulations and thanks to the team who raised €1,800 in sponsorship for the Stroke Unit.
