Our Climb for Beaumont series continues with a guided ascent of Slieve Donard, Northern Ireland’s highest mountain at 850 mtrs./2550 ft. The Mourne Mountains are a granite domed and heather covered range which of course, sweep down to the sea!
On Saturday, 14th October, we will depart early from Beaumont Hospital at 7am and drive north (2.5 hrs with stops) to County Down to begin our approx. 6 hour climb of Slieve Donard. We will stop for dinner in the Carrickdale Hotel (not covered in trip cost) before making the return journey back to Beaumont Hospital. Expected arrival time to Beaumont will be between 7 - 8pm.
Walking boots, rain gear a must with walking poles strongly recommended.
The trip costs €100 made up of half cost and half is a donation to any ward or dept in Beaumont Hospital of your choice. Trip includes:
- Transport from Beaumont Hospital to County Down
- Guided approx. 6 hour climb of Slieve Donard
- Return bus to Dublin
